catalog

This section allows you to define application settings for loans and statistics.

• item types let you set up the various loan options, including loan duration in days.
• statistical codes are used for keeping track of loans and library funds statistics.
• section codes are meant to label sections of your public where items are loanable (adults, teenagers, etc.). These codes are taken into account for the statistics.
• status is used to specify the availability of items.
• locations may be used to assign items to specific places (for example: reserve).

borrowers

The various codes which let you keep statistics about your library's borrowers.

By combining these codes, you should be able to adapt the application to the particular needs of your library.

users

This section allows you to manage PMB's users and their privileges. Particularly, you can choose which users may manage loans, cataloging, and authorities. Usernames and passwords may be changed here.

database cleanup

This feature allows you to keep the application's database up-to-date. Great care has been taken to eliminate any possibilities of data loss. Among the tools made available by this feature are the ability to "clean up" and regenerate the indices used for the searches, and to eliminate data which are unnecessary for the functioning of the application. You should use these tools, perhaps, in case of problems with the data.

Here you will find tools for managing the database. We strongly suggest that you make periodical database backups.
