Configuration of PHP : php.ini

Place of this file for Windows :
    \windows\
    or :
    \install_dir_of_apache\apache\
   
What to check :
    GD : check if it is available and activated (barcode printing)
    PHP_YAZ : check if it is available and activated (z3950 search)
    PHP_BZ2 : check if it is available and activated (backup of the database)
    PHP_XSLT : check if it is available and activated (XML/UNIMARC/RTF conversions)
   
What must be modified in php.ini :

    max_execution_time = 120     ; Maximum execution time of each script, in seconds
   
increase to 120 seconds

    Extensions :
   
    extension=php_bz2.dll
    extension=php_gd.dll or extension=php_gd2.dll
    extension=php_yaz.dll
    extension=php_xslt.dll

The corresponding DLL files must be copied in \windows\system32,
Take the files which are with your PHP distribution, the versions must 
be compatible.

These DLL files should be avalaible in
    PHP directory or php\dlls directory
    or in EasyPHP\php directory if you install EasyPHP 

These DLL are :
    expat.dll, iconv.dll, sablot.dll, yaz.dll
   
In order to be able to upload and store files bigger than 2Mb,
increase size of max upload :
    ; Maximum allowed size for uploaded files.
    upload_max_filesize = 16M

Trick :
    extension=php_mime_magic.dll
    mime_magic.magicfile = "c:\easyphp\php\magic.mime"
This extension (not mandatory) allow you PMB to know what type of file 
you are trying to store. Without this extension,  PMB uses the file 
extension to guess what type of file it is.
Check (or create) the following line :
    mime_magic.magicfile = "c:\easyphp\php\magic.mime"
give the right path to magic.mime !

LDAP : import et authentification des lecteurs sur serveur LDAP :
	extension=php_ldap.dll
	PHP <= 4.2.0 requiert libsasl.dll  (fournie), PHP >= 4.3.0 requiert libeay32.dll , ssleay32.dll  (fournies)
	Ces DLL sont copier dans le répertoire Windows/system32

For an installation on Linux, the parameters of php.ini are the same but 
the extensions which are "*.so". Maybe you will have to recompile PHP.

Lots of distributions now include these packages, or they can be 
downloaded without recompiling.

Configuration of MySQL
In order to be able to store files bigger than 2Mb,
increase size of max packet .
lokk for the file my.ini or equivalent
look for :
    set-variable    = max_allowed_packet=1M
change it to
    set-variable    = max_allowed_packet=16M
16M will allow you to store files up to 16 Mb
